About Kutná Hora
In the Middle Ages, silver from the mines of Kutná Hora made the Bohemian kings among the richest in Europe. The town used that wealth to build churches worthy of a capital, and its historic centre is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Bone Church
The Sedlec Ossuary is what brings most visitors. Its chandelier, coat of arms and garlands are made from the bones of people buried in the cemetery over centuries, arranged in the late nineteenth century. It is striking, sometimes unsettling, and best visited with some context about why it exists.

St Barbara's Church is one of the finest Gothic buildings in Central Europe, and the old town around it is quiet and walkable. The Italian Court, once the royal mint, and the medieval mine at the Silver Museum explain where the money came from.
