Flora metro station (line A) closed until November or December 2026

Flora station on Prague metro line A has been closed since Monday 2 February 2026 for a complete reconstruction. The Prague public transport company DPP expects to reopen it around the turn of November and December 2026. No exact date has been announced, and the PID notice says the closure lasts until further notice. Line A trains pass through the station without stopping. The original escalators, more than 45 years old, are being replaced together with the cabling, ventilation, lighting and wall cladding, and because Flora has only one exit from the platform, the whole station has to close.

What it means for your trip

• Use the next stations: on line A, get off at Jiřího z Poděbrad or Želivského, the stations on either side of Flora, or at Náměstí Míru.
• Or take the tram: PID recommends regular trams to the Flora area: lines 10, 11 and 16 from Náměstí Míru, line 13 from Jiřího z Poděbrad and line 16 from Želivského.
• Staying in Vinohrady or Žižkov near Flora? Plan your routes from Jiřího z Poděbrad or Želivského and allow a few extra minutes for the walk or the tram.
• Step-free access comes later: DPP expects the new lifts, with an entrance on Vinohradská street by the steps to the Olšany Cemeteries, to open during the first quarter of 2028.
