Prague airport access: Aviatická junction works until 30 November 2026
Published

The Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) is rebuilding the Aviatická × Lipská junction, the main road interchange next to Václav Havel Airport Prague. According to the airport's own site, prg.aero, the current construction stage began on 27 September 2026 and runs until 30 November 2026. During this stage, drivers coming from the city centre reach the airport on Lipská street using a renewed ramp, while traffic to and from Tuchoměřice is diverted via Kněževes and the D7 motorway, as confirmed by Prague daily Deník. One lane stays open in each direction on Aviatická street for most of the works.
What it means for your trip
- Allow extra time for any car journey to or from the airport, especially during rush hours, as both the airport and Deník advise.
- If you are driving in from Tuchoměřice or the D7 motorway, follow the signed detour via Kněževes.
- Give your driver or taxi a safety margin before a flight while this stage of the works runs, until 30 November 2026.
- Public transport buses to the airport are not affected by the roadworks, according to prg.aero.
- See our guide to getting from Prague airport to the city centre for the other ways to make the trip.
We arrange airport transfers with a driver who tracks the current road situation, so an extra few minutes at the Aviatická junction will not affect your pickup.
