Prague Christmas markets 2026 open on 28 November: dates and hours

Prague's two main Christmas markets, on Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) and Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí), open on Saturday 28 November 2026 and run until Wednesday 6 January 2027. The organiser, Taiko a.s., lists the same hours for both squares: every day from 10:00 to 22:00. Expect a lit Christmas tree, wooden huts selling crafts and food, and a daily cultural programme with music, choirs and activities for families.

What it means for your trip

• The whole season is covered. The markets stay open after Christmas, so a visit between Christmas and 6 January 2027 still catches them.
• For more space, go on a weekday morning, then come back after dark for the lights.
• Book early. If you travel in December, reserve your hotel and any Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve dinner well ahead.
• Check the programme on the organiser's website, trhypraha.cz, before you go.
• Dress warmly. You will spend a lot of time outdoors, standing at the stalls.
