Prague main station: Airport Express bus stop moves to Opletalova street

Since Monday 3 August 2026, roadworks on Wilsonova street outside Prague's main railway station (Praha hlavní nádraží) have moved several bus stops away from their usual spot in front of the station building. According to PID, the Prague integrated transport authority, lines 905, 907, 908, 911 and the Airport Express (AE) no longer stop on Wilsonova. The change is open-ended, and PID expects it to last into November 2026. The works are part of a repair of the station's roof over the departure hall, which has been leaking onto the car park and the road below, according to Czech news outlet Echo24.

What it means for your trip

  • Find the new stop on Opletalova. The Hlavní nádraží stop towards the city centre and Václavské náměstí now sits on Opletalova street, about 65 metres past its junction with Jeruzalémská, not on Wilsonova.
  • Arriving from the airport on the AE bus? You still get off close to the station, but look for the Opletalova stop rather than Wilsonova if you are being met or are walking in with luggage.
  • Heading to the airport? Buses to Václav Havel Airport now also pick up on Opletalova before continuing on toward Wilsonova and Politických vězníků.
  • Allow a few extra minutes to find the stop and cross to the station entrance, especially with luggage or at night.
  • Metro and trains at Hlavní nádraží are not affected. Only the bus stops outside the building have moved.

Our guide to getting from Prague airport to the city centre covers the Airport Express bus and other options in detail. If you would rather not track down a moved bus stop after a long flight, we arrange an airport transfer with meet and greet, so your driver is waiting for you by name in the arrivals hall.
