Žižkov tram closure in Prague: no trams to Ohrada until 18 December 2026
Published

Trams stop running in both directions between Nákladové nádraží Žižkov and Ohrada, in the Prague 3 district, from Sunday 11 October to Friday 18 December 2026. According to PID, the Prague integrated transport authority, the tracks are being modernised; the Prague 3 district adds that the work on Jana Želivského street also connects the network to the new tram line being built toward Jarov. Tram lines 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 95 and 98 change their routes, and lines 16 and 34 are suspended for the whole period.
What it means for your trip
- Replacement buses cover the gap. Daytime bus X9 runs from Nákladové nádraží Žižkov via Biskupcova and Ohrada to Vozovna Žižkov. At night, X95 follows the same route and X98 starts at Olšanské hřbitovy.
- Temporary trams reach Ohrada from the north. Daytime lines 30 and 37 and night line 90 run via Palmovka and Ohrada to Spojovací.
- Look for the temporary stops. Replacement buses do not always leave from the usual tram platforms, so follow the signs at each stop.
- The Biskupcova stop moves again on 9 November 2026, so the stop you used at the start of your stay may not be the right one later.
- Check the route of your line before you set off. The PID notice on pid.cz lists the changed route of every affected tram and bus line.
