About this tour
Prague is more than its historic centre. A few tram stops away, the city looks different: former factories turned into galleries, a slaughterhouse turned into a market, a flooded district reborn with cafés and offices, and a television tower with giant babies crawling up its sides. This tour shows the Prague that locals know.
Four districts, four stories
Letná is the green plateau above the river, with one of the best views of the bridges and a metronome standing where Stalin's statue once looked down on the city. Holešovice grew around factories and a river port and is now home to contemporary art, design studios and the old slaughterhouse market. Karlín was badly hit by the 2002 flood and came back as one of the most pleasant places to eat and drink in Prague. Žižkov, the old working-class district, is famous for its pubs, its independent spirit and its TV tower.
Your licensed guide connects them with the history of the twentieth century, from the industrial boom to communism and the years after 1989.
Tram, car or both
The districts are linked by tram, which is part of the experience. For groups or for a faster pace, a private car can take you from one stop to the next, and your guide rides with you.
