Anne Jagiellon exhibition at Prague's Waldstein Riding School until March 2027
Published

The National Gallery Prague opens an exhibition about Anne Jagiellon (1503-1547), queen of Bohemia and Hungary and wife of Ferdinand I, at the Waldstein Riding School (Valdštejnská jízdárna), Valdštejnská 3, in Malá Strana. The show, called Anne Jagiellon: Queen at the Dawn of a New Era, runs until 28 March 2027. The gallery's own programme gives 22 October 2026 as the first day, while Czech Radio and the Pražský přehled listings give 23 October 2026. The exhibition marks the 500th anniversary of the Habsburgs coming to the Bohemian throne.
What it means for your trip
- Works by Renaissance masters. The gallery names Lucas Cranach the Elder, Albrecht Dürer and Titian among the artists on show.
- A good pairing with Prague Castle. One part of the exhibition shows how Prague Castle changed while it was one of the royal couple's main residences.
- The queen in her own words. According to the gallery, her letters are used to tell the story of her private life.
- Opening hours and tickets. Prague City Tourism lists the riding school as open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 18:00, closed on Mondays, with admission at 270 CZK full and 170 CZK reduced.
- Check the first days. Because the listings differ on 22 or 23 October 2026, look at ngprague.cz before you plan a visit in the opening week.
