Prague Castle's Old Royal Palace reopens on 2 October 2026

The Old Royal Palace at Prague Castle reopens for regular tourist visits on 2 October 2026, after being closed to the public since 4 September 2026, according to Prague Castle's official visitor site. The closure made way for the annual free exhibition of the Czech Crown Jewels, shown in the palace's Vladislav Hall from 19 to 28 September 2026. On the exhibition's final day, queues to reach the hall ran two to three hours, with the line stretching from the South Gardens entrance through the Bull Staircase, Expats.cz reported.

• From 2 October 2026, the Old Royal Palace, including Vladislav Hall, is back on the regular visitor route through Prague Castle.
• If you visited the castle complex between 4 September and 1 October 2026, the Old Royal Palace was off the itinerary; other sights, such as St Vitus Cathedral, kept their usual hours.
• The Crown Jewels exhibition itself is over for this year: it ran for ten days only, with free entry.
• Prague Castle can still add short, date-specific restrictions to individual sights, so check its official visitor site before you go.
