No trams 22 and 23 at Prague Castle on 17, 18, 24 and 25 October 2026

Trams do not run in either direction between Chotkovy sady and Brusnice, the section of track that passes Prague Castle, on Saturday 17, Sunday 18, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026, each day from 07:00 to 16:00. According to PID, the Prague integrated transport system, and DPP, the city's transport company, the reason is maintenance of the tram track; the PID leaflet describes it as greening of the track. Tram lines 22 and 23 take a detour, and no replacement transport is provided.

What it means for your trip

  • No trams at the Castle stops during these hours. The official PID map shows the Královský letohrádek and Pražský hrad stops, both on the closed section, as not served.
  • Trams 22 and 23 go around. From Malostranská they run via Chotkovy sady, Hradčanská and Prašný most to Brusnice, where they return to their usual route.
  • No replacement buses. PID and DPP both state that replacement transport is not provided, so plan another way up to the Castle for these four days.
  • Historic trams 41 and 42 are also diverted through Hradčanská and Prašný most.
  • Check departure times for your date. PID notes that stops may not show full information during short closures and recommends the journey planner at spojeni.dpp.cz with the date entered.
