Clocks go back in Prague on 25 October 2026: summer time ends

Summer time ends in the Czech Republic in the night from Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 October 2026. At 3:00 summer time, clocks go back one hour to 2:00 Central European Time, as set by the government regulation on summer time for 2022 to 2026. Prague is then on UTC+1, and sunset comes an hour earlier by the clock. The twice-yearly change is not ending: a new regulation sets summer time for 2027 to 2031, starting again on 28 March 2027.

What it means for your trip

  • One extra hour on Sunday 25 October. Phones set to automatic time adjust, but check any alarm or travel clock you set by hand before an early tour, flight or train.
  • Check night journeys. If you travel by night bus or train in the night of 24 to 25 October 2026, look up that exact date in the PID or carrier's journey planner.
  • Seasonal river ferries stop at the end of October. According to PID, the seasonal ferries, including P5 between Císařská louka, Kotevní and Výtoň, run until the end of October 2026. P1 and P2 run all year.
  • Prague Zoo in winter: in November and December 2026 the zoo is open daily from 9:00 to 16:00, and ticket office hours differ from the opening hours.
  • Shorter afternoons for sightseeing. Prague Castle's winter hours start on 1 November 2026, see our Prague Castle winter hours post.
